Chairman of the Board
Christian P. Michalik Christian Michalik was named chairman of WellCare’s board on March 19, 2015. He has been a WellCare director since 2002. Mr. Michalik has served as Managing Director of Kinderhook Industries, a private equity investment firm, since July 2004. Mr. Michalik has significant investment experience in the health care sector and is currently chairman of several specialized health care service companies, including Clinical Research Advantage, Inc., E4 Health Care, Inc. and Global Health Inc. He has extensive knowledge of capital markets and deep financial expertise. Mr. Michalik holds a bachelor’s degree from Yale College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Richard C. Breon Richard C. Breon has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Spectrum Health System, a non-profit integrated health care organization based in West Michigan, since 2000. Prior to that, Mr. Breon served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Mission Health System Inc., a member of Ascension Health, and St. Mary’s Hospital and Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana from 1995 to August 2000. Prior to that, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa from 1989 to 1995. He has been a director since 2013.

Kenneth A. Burdick Ken was named CEO of WellCare in January 2015 and was named as a member of the board of directors in December 2014. He leads WellCare in its mission to provide quality, cost-effective health care solutions for the company’s members, providers and government customers. Ken joined WellCare in January 2014 as president, national health plans, and was promoted to president and chief operating officer in June 2014. Prior to joining the company, Ken was president and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota. From 2010 to 2012, Ken was with Coventry Health Care as CEO of the Medicaid Division where he doubled the Medicaid revenue in 18 months. He also served as CEO of MHNet, a Coventry behavioral health business unit. Before that, Ken spent 14 years as an executive with UnitedHealth Group, rising through positions of increasing responsibility. Early in his career at UnitedHealth, he was senior vice president, national underwriting and CEO of the central Texas business. He was later named CEO of UnitedHealthcare of Arizona, a position he held for three years. He then served as president, UnitedHealthcare’s Public Sector and was CEO of the company’s southwest region. In 2006, Ken was named CEO of UnitedHealthcare Group’s commercial business where he held P&L responsibility for $26 billion in revenue. He was named CEO of UnitedHealthcare’s Secure Horizons retail Medicare business in 2008. Ken has served on a number of boards in the health care industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in American Studies from Amherst College and a law degree from University of Connecticut School of Law.

Carol J. Burt Ms. Burt, a principal of Burt-Hilliard Investments since 2008, is a private investor with more than 30 years’ experience in operations, strategy, corporate finance and investment banking. Ms. Burt has served as an operating partner for Consonance Capital Partners, a New York-based private equity firm focused on the healthcare industry, since January 2013. Ms. Burt was formerly an executive of WellPoint, Inc., where she served from 1997 to 2007, most recently as WellPoint’s Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance and Development. In her time at WellPoint, Ms. Burt was responsible for, among other things, corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, finance, treasury and real estate management. In addition, WellPoint’s financial services and international insurance business units reported to her. Since 2011, she has served as a director of Envision Healthcare Holdings, Inc., a company focused on outsourced facility-based physician and healthcare transportation services, where she serves on the audit, finance and nominating and governance committees. Since November 2013, she has served as a director of ResMed, Inc., a publicly-held medical equipment company. Previously, Ms. Burt served on the boards of Vanguard Health Systems, Inc. a publicly-held hospital management company from 2011 until October 2013 and Transitional Hospitals Corporation, a publicly-held company that operated long-term care and psychiatric hospitals from 1996 to 1997. Before joining WellPoint, Ms. Burt was Senior Vice President and Treasurer of American Medical Response and spent 16 years with Chase Securities (now JP Morgan) most recently as founder and head of the Health Care Investment Banking Group. Ms. Burt has been a director since 2010.

Roel C. Campos Roel C. Campos has served as a partner in the law firm of Hughes, Hubbard & Reed LLP since 2016. Mr. Campos is a former Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission, serving as the Vice Chairman of the Technical Committee of the International Organization of Securities Commissioners and Chairman of the Monitoring Group. In 2010, President Obama appointed Mr. Campos to the Presidential Intelligence Advisory Board. Mr. Campos is a founding member of the New America Alliance, an organization that promotes the economic advancement of the American Latino community. He also serves as a director of Regional Management Corp. and is on the advisory board for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board. He has been a director since 2013.

H. James Dallas H. James Dallas has served as an independent consultant focusing on information technology, risk and change management strategy through James Dallas & Associates since September 2013. Prior to founding his own consulting firm, Mr. Dallas served as senior vice president of quality and operations at Medtronic, Inc., a global medical technology company. Dallas, who joined Medtronic in 2006, previously served as the company’s senior vice president and chief information officer. Before joining Medtronic, he served with Georgia-Pacific Corporation, a pulp and paper company for 22 years, where he held a series of positions of increasing responsibility in operations and information technology, ending as vice president and chief information officer. Mr. Dallas is also a member of the board of directors of KeyCorp, a publicly held bank holding company; Capella Education Company, an online post-secondary education services company; Grady Memorial hospital, a nonprofit hospital system in Atlanta; and the Atlanta Community Food Bank. He has been a director since 2016.

Hickey has served as Principal and director of HES Advisors, a strategic advisory firm serving the health care, health information technology and life sciences industries, since January 1983. Mr. Hickey also has served as Senior Advisor to Verisk, Inc., a company specializing in health care predictive analytics, since January 2008. From January 2006 to December 2007, Mr. Hickey served as President of D2Hawkeye, Inc. (now a part of Verisk, Inc.). He has been a director since 2002.

Glenn D. Steele, Jr., M.D. Glenn D. Steele, Jr., M.D. has served as the Chairman of xG Health Solutions, a health care redesign and optimization company affiliated with Geisinger Health System, since 2014. From 2001 until 2015, Dr. Steele served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Geisinger Health System, a physician-led health care system serving multiple regions of Pennsylvania. Dr. Steele has key experience in the health care industry from his academic and medical research and administration background, as well as experience in a variety of other aspects of the health care industry. Dr. Steele currently serves on the board of directors of Weis Markets, Inc., a supermarket chain, where he currently serves on the audit and compensation committees. He is also a director of Cepheid, a molecular diagnostics company that develops, manufactures and markets molecular systems and tests. He also serves on Cepheid's compensation committee. He has been a director since 2009.

Trubeck served as interim Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of YRC Worldwide Inc., a freight, shipping and trucking services company, from March 2011 until July 2011. He also served as a director of YRC Worldwide, Inc. from 1994 until July 2011 and was chair of the audit/ethics committee. Mr. Trubeck also serves as a director of Dynegy, Inc., a wholesale power, capacity and ancillary services company, where he also serves as a member of the compensation and human resources committee and as chair of the audit and compliance committee. Mr. Trubeck is a former Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of H&R Block, Inc., positions he held from 2004 to 2007. Mr. Trubeck has been a director since 2010.

Paul E. Weaver Paul E. Weaver is a former Vice Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, a position he held from 1994 to 1999. Mr. Weaver has served as a director of AMN Healthcare, a health care staffing and management services company, since 2006 and currently serves as the chair of AMN's audit committee and as a member of its executive committee. Since 2010, Mr. Weaver has also served as a director of Unisys Corporation, an information technology consulting company, where he currently serves as chairman of the board and chair of the audit committee. Mr. Weaver previously served as a director and member of the audit committee and the corporate governance and nominating committee of Gateway, Inc., a retail computer company, from 2006 until 2007 and as a director of Idearc Media Corp., now known as SuperMedia LLC, an advertising agency, from 2006 until 2009, where he also served as chair of the audit committee. Mr. Weaver has been a director since 2010.

Andrew L. Asher Drew was named executive vice president and chief financial officer in October 2016. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president and CFO. He joined WellCare in August 2014 as senior vice president. He leads the company's financial activities, including financial and performance management, capital strategy and planning, actuarial, medical economics, internal controls, investment management, corporate development and investor relations.

Prior to joining WellCare, Drew was the CFO of Aetna’s local and regional businesses, a position he held since May 2013 when his former employer, Coventry Health Care, was acquired by Aetna. Drew was with Coventry for 15 years, most recently as senior vice president, corporate finance. During his tenure with Coventry, he had responsibility for financial planning and analysis, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, treasury, real estate and procurement. He started his career with Deloitte & Touche LLP where he spent five years as an auditor and accountant serving clients including managed care.

Drew holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Florida and a master’s in taxation from the University of Central Florida.

Stephanie Davis Stephanie was named senior vice president, division president in April 2017. She is responsible for operations in WellCare’s Arizona, Hawaii and Nebraska markets.

Prior to joining WellCare, Stephanie spent nearly 20 years with Mercer Health & Benefits, LLC where she held a variety of executive roles of increasing scope and responsibility. Most recently, Davis served as a partner and western region business leader at Mercer with responsibility for eight states in the western territory. Prior to her tenure at Mercer, Stephanie served as assistant director of managed care with Arizona’s Medicaid agency, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS).

Stephanie holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of San Diego. She is based in WellCare’s Arizona office in Phoenix.

Darren Ghanayem Darren was named SVP, Chief Information Officer (CIO) in April 2016. He is responsible for further advancing WellCare’s technology capabilities to support the company’s focus on growth and innovation opportunities. He reports to the CEO and serves as a member of the executive leadership team.

Prior to joining WellCare, Darren spent more than 15 years with Anthem, formerly WellPoint, Inc., where he provided leadership for a broad variety of technology initiatives. Most recently, he served as vice president of business transformation, where he developed innovative solutions to improve health care for members and providers. Prior to assuming this role, Darren held roles of increasing responsibility, serving as a director, staff VP, VP and VP/CIO of Anthem’s commercial business unit. Darren also served as a senior project director with Access Systems, LLC and as a product manager with Reynolds and Reynolds.

Darren earned a bachelor’s degree in aerospace technology with a concentration in computer technology and an associate in applied science electrical engineering technology from Purdue University.

Notably, in 2013, Darren was recognized as a Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leader.

Anat Hakim Anat was named senior vice president, general counsel and secretary in September 2016. She is responsible for leading the company’s legal department. Most recently, Anat served as divisional vice president, associate general counsel, litigation for Abbott Laboratories, a global diagnostics, medical device, nutrition and branded generic pharmaceuticals manufacturer. In this role, she had oversight of the company’s commercial litigation; intellectual property litigation; government investigations; significant compliance internal investigations and remediation; and labor and employment counseling. Prior to joining Abbott, Anat spent 12 years with Foley & Lardner, LLP, an international law firm, including eight years as an equity partner, where she focused on patent, trademark, trade secret and complex commercial lawsuits. Before joining Foley & Lardner, she served as an associate with the law firm Latham & Watkins for five years. Anat holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a J.D. from Harvard University.

Gregg D. MacDonald Gregg was named senior vice president, division president in October 2016. He is responsible for WellCare’s operations in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. He joined WellCare in 2007 and has more than 30 years of experience in the health care industry.

He previously served as the president of WellCare of Florida, where he was responsbile for the company’s strategy, regulatory compliance, business development, provider contracting and relations, sales and marketing, medical management, finance, and administration in Florida. Prior to that, he served as the company’s chief operating officer for Florida, leading the teams responsible for all state sales, marketing, community outreach, provider contracting and relations, and finance functions.

Before joining WellCare, he was vice president, network management for UnitedHealthcare, which included responsibility for its southeast region government programs and commercial market leadership for central and north Florida. Prior to that, he was vice president, contracting provider services for Cigna and held several leadership positions at Aetna. Earlier in his career, his roles focused on actuarial, underwriting and finance initiatives with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Delaware and Ernst & Young LLP.

Gregg is a board member for various community organizations and WellCare partners, including the Community Food & Outreach Center, the Central Florida Regional Health Information Organization and the Florida Association of Health Plans.

Senior Vice President and Chief Public Affairs Officer
Rhonda Mims Rhonda was named SVP, Chief Public Affairs Officer in August 2016. She is responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s strategic communications; public policy; corporate social responsibility; philanthropy, diversity and inclusion; and employee volunteerism.

Most recently, Rhonda served as the managing director of corporate social responsibility at Paul Hastings, LLP. She had oversight of the firm’s diversity and inclusion strategy, charitable giving, pro bono and volunteer efforts, and environmental sustainability. Prior to that, she served as senior vice president of corporate responsibility and chief diversity officer for ING U.S./Voya Financial and president of the ING U.S./Voya Foundation. She previously served as ING U.S./Voya Financial PAC treasurer, ethics officer and conducted government affairs on behalf of the company. Rhonda has also had an extensive legal career, which includes roles with the U.S. Department of Justice, the National District Attorney Association’s American Prosecutor’s Research Institute, and the South Carolina Office of Attorney General.

Rhonda serves as the Chairman of The Executive Leadership Council and as a member of the board of the Thirty Percent Coalition and the Citizens Committee for Children in New York. She has been acknowledged with numerous awards including CSR Executive of the Year, Top 100 Blacks in Corporate America, and recognized as Woman of the Year by multiple organizations.

Rhonda holds a juris doctor degree and a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of South Carolina.

Kelly Ann Munson Kelly was named executive vice president of Medicaid in October 2016 and leads the company’s Medicaid strategy. She has responsibility for WellCare’s operations in Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York and South Carolina.

Previously, she was senior vice president, division president and product, with responsibility for WellCare’s operations in Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas. She also led the company’s product development function.

Prior to this, Kelly was named region president for WellCare's operations in Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi and Tennessee in August 2014. She joined WellCare in 2006, serving in positions of increasing responsibility for WellCare's Ohio health plan in the areas of operations and regulatory compliance. She was named chief operating officer of WellCare of Kentucky in August 2012 and one year later was named state president, Kentucky.

Before joining WellCare, she held operational positions with Old World Classics, HomeTown Health Network and Medical Mutual of Ohio. Munson graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in dietetics and public health nutrition and did graduate work in public administration at the University of Akron.

Executive Vice President, Medicare and Operations
Michael R. Polen Mike was named executive vice president of Medicare and operations in October 2016. He is responsible for Medicare product, strategy, member retention, sales and marketing, member and provider operations, customer service, as well as enterprise-wide operations, network performance and payment integrity. He oversees WellCare’s operations in Arkansas, California, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Texas.

Mike joined WellCare in May 2005. Before assuming his current position, he served as senior vice president of Medicare and operations, as well as vice president of corporate initiatives and strategy. He also held positions as senior director of health plan finance, director of health plan operations and director of health business planning and analytics.

Prior to joining WellCare, Mike held roles with JPMorgan Chase & Co. as assistant vice president of treasury and security services and as assistant treasurer of balance and liquidity management.

Mike earned a bachelor’s degree in decision and information sciences from the University of Florida and a master of business administration from the University of South Florida.

Executive Vice President, Clinical Operations and Business Development
Michael P. Radu Mike was named executive vice president, clinical operations and business development in October 2016. He provides executive leadership over WellCare’s clinical services operations (CSO), including pharmacy and business development. He is responsible for delivering operational excellence in support of effective and efficient coordination of care to best meet member needs and for helping to drive the company’s strategic growth efforts.

Mike joined WellCare in September 2015 as senior vice president, clinical operations and business development.

Prior to that, Mike served as the chief executive officer of Health Essentials and has more than 25 years of experience in the managed care industry including Medicaid and Medicare, medical group administration, business development, operations and state public affairs at companies including UnitedHealthcare, Lifemark and Optum.

Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and holds an MBA in finance from the University of Southern California (USC) Marshall School of Business.

David T. Reynolds Dave was named senior vice president, division president in December 2014. He is responsible for WellCare’s operations in Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, New Jersey, New York and Nebraska. He joined the company in November 2012 as region president and led operations in Connecticut, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey, New York and Ohio.

Dave has more than 20 years of experience in the health care industry. Before joining WellCare, he served as the state president of Illinois for Humana and was responsible for the commercial health insurance business. He also held the position of vice president of sales and spearheaded a major turnaround effort resulting in significant growth.

Prior to that, he served as the vice president of payer sales at WebMD. Earlier in his career, he held various positions of leadership at Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corporation, HPR, Inc. and Johnson & Johnson.

Dave earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Northern Illinois University.

Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer
Tim Trodden Tim was named SVP, Chief Human Resources Officer in January 2017. He is responsible to create and drive an overarching people strategy that supports enterprise-wide priorities.

Tim was most recently the head of human resources (HR), corporate enterprise functions for Johnson & Johnson where he led overall HR and talent strategy. He held other HR leadership roles at Johnson & Johnson over his 16 years with the company.

Tim holds a bachelor’s degree from Seton Hall University and a master’s degree in human resources management from Rutgers University. He also completed Wharton’s Executive Development Program.

Senior Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer
Michael C. Yount Michael has served as senior vice president and chief compliance officer since April 2014. He leads and directs the company’s corporate compliance and ethics program, and oversees the company’s compliance with the laws and regulatory requirements applicable to the company and all of its divisions, subsidiaries and affiliates. He reports to the CEO and the Regulatory Compliance Committee of the WellCare Board of Directors.

Michael joined WellCare in 2011. Before assuming his current position, he served as vice president, regulatory compliance counsel and chief privacy officer. Prior to joining WellCare, he spent nine years with Rite Aid Corporation, Camp Hill, Pa., first as government affairs attorney, then as director, government affairs, and ultimately as vice president, regulatory law & compliance monitoring and privacy officer. Prior to joining Rite Aid, he was an attorney with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and a law degree, both from Ohio Northern University, Ada, Ohio. He is admitted to the bars in Illinois and New Jersey, and is a registered pharmacist in Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
